Transfer News: England midfielder Staniforth joins Manchester United
England star Lucy Staniforth has signed for Manchester United on a two-year deal.
The midfielder left Birmingham City last month at the end of her contract having played 43 times for the Blues across two seasons.
United finished fourth in the curtailed Women's Super League season, their first in the top flight.
Staniforth hopes she can help the club to compete for silverware: "I wanted to come here to win trophies and make history," she told manutd.com.
"I'm really happy to have signed with Manchester United; it's the biggest club in the world and I'm so proud to be part of it."
The Lioness has played 16 times for her country and was in the squad for the 2019 Women's World Cup and 2020 SheBelieves Cup.
