Ludlow leaves Wales role by mutual consent

Jayne Ludlow has stood down as manager of Wales after a seven-year spell in charge of the national side.

The Football Association of Wales will now start what they describe as a "thorough recruitment process" following Ludlow's departure by mutual consent.

Wales failed to qualify for Euro 2022 or the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup. Ludlow has now taken a role with FIFA but is free to look at other management jobs.

"My time as the national team manager has been an eventful and exciting journey," Ludlow said. "It has been an honour and an absolute pleasure to have worked with the staff and players."

It is understood Ludlow is not being considered as an interim replacement for Phil Neville after he stepped down as England manager six months before the end of his contract.
