Transfer News: Chelsea sign Liverpool star Niamh Charles

Chelsea have announced the signing of England youth international Niamh Charles from Liverpool.

The striker has signed a two-year contract deciding to move to the champions following Liverpool's relegation from the Women's Super League.

Charles admitted being part of a title-winning team was a key factor. “[Manager] Emma Hayes was a huge part of my decision to join,” Charles said. “I know she’ll help me fill my potential and I can’t wait to get started.”

The Blues were looking to reinforce their squad after allowing Anita Asante, Deanna Cooper and Adelina Engman to leave earlier in the summer.
