Tennis: British stars set for summer bonanza
Britain's top tennis players are set to compete for a £400,000 prize pot after a new summer tournament was announced.
The UK Pro Series and Classic will be played over six consecutive weeks in July and August at the St George's Hill Club in Weybridge.
Each week 12 women and 12 men will compete in a round-robin format to qualify for the final "Classic" event.
It is hoped British No 1 Johanna Konta will take part. Tournament organiser, Ben Nicholas, told The Times: "We would hope to get one or two of the big players. We have had a great deal of interest so far and already oversubscribed for the first week."
