Windies collapse helps England take 2-0 series lead
A West Indian collapse from 72 for one to 96 for eight helped England ease to victory by 47 runs in the second Twenty20 International in Derby.
On a night when runs were hard to come by, England grafted to 151 for eight from their 20 overs. Nobody really settled into a decent rhthym, Sarah Glenn top scoring with 26 having come in at number eight.
The Windies started well in response, Stephanie Taylor and the dangerous Deandra Dottin putting on 61 for the second wicket. But once those two were separated, the visitors' middle order failed to put up any resistance.
Glenn was delighted to contribute with bat and ball. "It's special - this is the ground I grew up playing on. It was a really special moment for me," she said.
"I've been wanting to work my way up the order so it was good to get some runs in an England shirt. I want to be seen as a genuine all-rounder."
West Indies captain Taylor wants to see more of her side put in match-influencing performances: "We got off to a decent start, then they came back. We were on target for restricting them under 145, 135, which would've been good.
"The batters didn't come to the party and we need to improve in that area. It just can't be one player."
