Super League set for September start
The Football Association has provisionally set the date of 5-6 September for the new Women's Super League and Championship season to start.
There were hopes of an earlier resumption after the current campaign was cancelled due to coronavirus, with Chelsea named as champions last week whilst Liverpool were relegated.
However, Kelly Simmons, the FA's director of the women's professional game, said: "We looked if we could come back earlier, but we want to put in place the right pre-season for the players.
"[5-6 September] is a Fifa men's international fixture slot at the moment. That's when we launched last year and had a fantastic impact.
The transfer window will open on 19 June, closing on 10 September, with clubs returning to pre-season training in July.
