Chelsea travel to Manchester United as opening WSL fixtures announced
Champions Chelsea will be away at Manchester United on the opening weekend of the new Women's Super League season.
Aston Villa host runners-up Manchester City in their first ever top-flight fixture. Tottenham and West Ham meet in an enticing London derby whilst Arsenal are at home to Reading.
Birmingham travel to Brighton and Bristol City entertain Everton in the other matches which will take place across the weekend of 5/6 September.
In the Women's Championship, Liverpool start their campaign at home to Durham and Sheffield United have a trip to the capital to play London City Lionesses.
Chelsea's first home fixture will be on the second weekend of the season when they take on Bristol City. Arsenal are away at West Ham and Manchester City host Brighton. Everton against Tottenham, Birmingham v Manchester United and Villa's trip to Reading complete the second weekend on 12/13 September.
Kelly Simmons, Director of the Women’s Professional Game, said: "Fans have had to wait a while to see some live action and being able to announce the first two rounds of fixtures ahead of so many other leagues was something we really pushed for to build up the excitement ahead of the season starting.
“We’re really looking forward to seeing our players back on the field to show off their talent and showcase the very best of what the Barclays FA Women’s Super League and FA Women’s Championship has to offer. My hope is that they will be joined by supporters in our stadiums soon, because fans make the matchday experience even more special.”
