Transfer News: Chelsea sign Canada star Fleming
Canadian international Jessie Fleming has become Chelsea's third signing of the summer as the Blues prepare to defend their Barclays Women's Super League title.
The midfielder moves from UCLA Bruins where she combined making 75 appearances and scoring 25 goals with studying for a degree in engineering and environmental science.
Her first professional contract will keep her at the club until 2023. Having made her international debut at 15, Fleming has already earned 77 caps for Canada.
"Jessie is one of the top young players in the world, so for us to beat a lot of other clubs for her signature is a testament to the work that has been done here for a number of years," manager Emma Hayes told chelseafc.com.
"She chose Chelsea, this was her priority, her first choice and we were over the moon to get her."
