Hall, Hull and Law well placed at ANA Inspiration

The English trio of Georgia Hall, Charley Hull and Bronte Law all hit first-round 69s to sit three shots off the lead at the opening women's Major of the year, the ANA Inspiration at Mission Hills.

Thailand's Patty Tavatanakit is the outright leader on six under, one shot ahead of Ireland's Leona Maguire and Shanshan Feng of China.

Michelle Wie, playing in her first major for nearly two years following an extended break for injury and the birth of her first child, looked in good form with a opening round of 70.

"I am just happy to see my name on the first page of the leaderboard," she told the Golf Channel. "That's really special to me. Been a long time since I've seen that."
