Women's Super League review: top four all on target
The top four were all winners as the chase for Champions League places intensified in the Barclays Women's Super League. Chelsea remain on top after a 2-0 victory at West Ham thanks to goals from Sam Kerr and Beth England.
City's afternoon was far less straightforward, though. A late Keira Walsh goal proved the difference in a 1-0 win against a resolute Everton side. The result keeps City tucked in behind Chelsea just two points behind.
Manchester United maintained the six-point gap between themselves and Arsenal in the final European place with a 3-0 victory against Aston Villa, their first win in three matches.
Despite the deficit, Arsenal have a game in hand and still have to play United. Their confidence was further enhanced by a second-consecutive 4-0 success, this time against Birmingham City at St. George's Park. Caitlin Foord scored twice whilst Vivianne Miedema and Lisa Evans were also on target.
Elsewhere, Brighton were 2-0 winners against Tottenham with Inessa Kaagman scoring both goals as the Seagulls moved six points clear of Spurs in eighth place.
