Women's Champions League review: big wins for Chelsea and Man City
Both Chelsea and Manchester City were 3-0 winners in the second legs of their respective Women's Champions League Round of 32 ties to progress to the last 16.
Bethany England scored twice for Chelsea whilst Sam Kerr added a third on her European debut as the Blues beat Benfica 8-0 on aggregate. Such was the dominance of the English champions, they were able to send on record signing Pernille Harder and top scorer Fran Kirby as second-half substitutes.
City's tie against Gothenburg was more finely poised at 2-1 on aggregate going into the second leg but despite some tricky early moments the fixture was settled thanks to a Lauren Hemp strike before half-time. Two further goals for Georgia Stanway added an extra gloss to the result for City, who reached the Round of 16 last season before being knocked out by Atletico Madrid.
