Robson's relief at return to the tennis court

Laura Robson has announced she is back on the practice court for the first time since recovering from hip surgery in December 2019.

The former Wimbledon junior champion has suffered from numerous injuries, including two operations on her hips, and last played competitively 20 months ago.

"It's taken ridiculous amounts of rehab and hard work to get to this point so I'm very proud of myself," she said on Instagram.

"I honestly didn't think I'd make it back on court after the last surgery."

The 2012 Olympic silver medalist, alongside Andy Murray in the mixed doubles, also joked that fans can now stop asking if she has retired as she works towards a competitive return in 2021.
