Record sponsorship for Women's FA Cup as Vitality takes over
The Football Association has signed a record sponsorship deal for the Women's FA Cup despite the current uncertain financial landscape caused by the coronavirus crisis.
Insurance giant Vitality will replace energy provider SSE in a three-year deal, the first of which will uniquely contain two FA Cup finals.
The 2019-20 competition is still at the quarter-final stage after being paused during lockdown. The final is due to be played on 1 November with this season's final then taking place in its traditional May slot in the calendar.
“It’s a significant investment,” said Kelly Simmons, the Football Association’s director of the women’s professional game. “It demonstrates the power of women’s football.
"Bringing a major brand in at this moment demonstrates the power of women's football and where the game is, and that brands and other partners want to get involved."
