WTA forced to cancel more Tour events
The WTA has been forced to cancel seven more events this year, including the WTA Tour finals in Shenzen in November.
China has announced the country will not host any major sporting events before the end of the year.
WTA chairman Steve Simon said: "[We are] extremely disappointed. We do however respect the decision that has been made and are eager to return to China as soon as possible next season."
The Palermo Open in Italy, starting on 3 August, will be the first event back on the WTA Tour since lockdown began in March.
