Snooker: Reanne Evans loses in World Championship qualifying

Reanne Evans lost her World Championship qualifying match against Andy Hicks 6-3 to end her bid to reach the main draw, which starts at the Crucible on 31 July.

"I'm disappointed because I felt good - but with maybe a couple more weeks' practice I would have been more match sharp," Evans said.

Had she won, Evans would have been the first woman to win a televised match in a world-ranking event.

The qualifiers, at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield, began on Tuesday and run until 28 July.
