MotoGP owners look to buy into Women's Super League
The owners of MotoGP are preparing to buy a stake in the Barclays Women's Super League, as interest in investing in the sport increases.
Global investment firm Bridgepoint are one of several private equity firms who have expressed a desire in the WSL, according to BBC Sport.
As Women's Sport Daily has reported, the Premier League is also discussing taking control of both the Super League and Championship but such a takeover is not yet fully supported by the clubs.
At the moment, the league is run by the Football Association but it is keen to hand over responsibility for the professional women's game.
“As the WSL continues to grow and thrive there is considerable commercial interest from a variety of sectors," an FA spokesperson told the BBC.
