Grassroots game given go-ahead to resume by The FA
Women and girls can start playing football again from August, with league matches allowed from September, according to new guidance from the Football Association.
The Women's Super League and Championship was already permitted to resume training and preparing for the new season but now separate guidelines have been produced for tiers three to six of the women's game.
Grassroots clubs can also return to playing, although there are several strict Covid-19 regulations in place. Players are encouraged to avoid goal celebrations and handshakes at the end of games, while youth coaches will be asked to step in 'to limit persistent close proximity of participants during match play and training'.
