Athletics: September date for rearranged British Championships

The British Athletics Championships, which were due to be held in June, will now take place on 4-5 September.

UK Athletics confirmed the date change and admitted the event will have to take place behind closed doors.

They are also hopeful the Diamond League meeting in Gateshead, originally set for 16 August, can also go ahead in September.

Chief executive, Joanna Coates, said: "We are delighted to be able to offer our athletes an opportunity to compete." 

British trials for the postponed Tokyo Olympic Games will now take place on 26-27 June 2021.
